OMB! Herculoids!!!!!! Man, I loved that show growing up. Dude... you just brought back some memories. You did a fantastic job with them too, bro. All of the sculptures came out great. Are any of these for sale?

What was the name of that crazy caveman cartoon?

absolutely frakkin beautiful! great style and lines.

I browsed around your blog and you've done some stunning pieces. I'm really digging your abstract-expressionistic-cubism style you've got going on. I love it all, man! Beautiful art!

Dude... these are killer AP fellaz! Just awesome skin texture's and expressions
on all of them. Each has it's own lil' quirky character to them. I really love that
first one though, sorta reminds me of the guardians of the lantern.

Off Topic » Kat Von D NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Aug 31, 2010 08:39 PM (Total replies: 3)

lol J... I love me some KatVonD, too. Her tattoo's are frakkin awesome - her shading is insane and I think no one comes close to her portrait work on skin. While I can only see this ending badly and full of drama (can we say reality tv show again), I do love the work Jesse does too. Would kill me to get one of those choppers.

and hilarious rap btw, sir slim shady =P

@Alfred - Dude, thank you for the kind words man. I'm a fan of your work and read
your blog every post. I know how hard it is to keep that up and you're doing an
awesome job bro. ^5(high-five). That recent Batman bust you did is fucken sweet
too, dude.

As for mah barbarian, I totally see what you're saying and never really figured out
what the problem was until now. I was having some trouble with the legs as soon
as I switched up the pose. He was standing straight up before, as I was following along
with the Shif Bro's Gnomon Dvd. This was my first full sculpt and really had no idea
what I was doing half the time. Good lessons learned though =P It's funny you should
suggest calipers because I JUST ordered some from dickblick a couple days ago along
with some new sculpting tools/clay.

thanks again for the compliments and crit.

@Troyboy - thanks Troy, I'm glad you dig. You sir are frakkin awesome ;)

wow... frakkin disgusting but soo awesome at the same time. The details in both the sculpt and paint work are phenomenal. So creepy looking it makes me cringe a bit even with just photos. It would certainly freak the hell out of me having that piece on my work station staring at me. Incredible job fellas.

small update now that I have my camera again. He's going to sit at this unfinished stage for a while until I get some other projects on my mind moving along. I still plan on doing a gnarly base and woman in-between his legs.

hope y'all digs, rasta

thank you to all for the compliments, very much appreciated =)

I agree with all that the legs need some more work and detail. They could use some more cuts n' maybe a few veins. I'll take another look around that knee/calf area and try to refine that more. That leg has been giving me a bit of trouble from the start.

The skull I'm still a bit on the fence about and might just cut if off completely. I'm kinda getting away from my original idea of just making a badass barbarian and turning him into more of a savage hunter after seeing Predators. I thought about putting a severed Predator head in his left hand. But after going through my inspiration folder and seeing the Jaguar God again I changed that idea to the dagger and feelin that more.

On the way to comic-con I thought about adding some more horns that curve up higher if I did keep the skull idea. I definitely need some hair that comes down behind the neck a bit and maybe a few strands coming around the front. I want to add some fur on the left shoulder along with a saber-tooth tiger skull. Brandon seemed to really like those ideas.

Here are some goodie pics from the Con for you guys that missed the awesome Shifflet Booth:

Brandon and I:

Frakkin awesome shiet:

I had a great frakkin time at the Con and had the pleasure of chilling with the Bro's for a bit and even got to meet Mother Shifflet! She was so nice n' loving too <3. You guys are such a huge inspiration to me and I just want to thank you for being frakkin awesome people. It was so easy to talk to you and really felt at ease from the moment I walked up. Words can't even express how happy I felt that you guys were feeling my work. It really makes all that time locked up in my room worth it =P

My only regret is that I didn't get a pic with Jarrod cause he skurrted out of there after we talked =P And I should have taken the pic before we went off to explore the Con. Walking around those crowds, all sweaty n smelly BO. Plus my buddy n' I nom'd on some delicious, yummy magical cookies we brought and had a few drinks... woowooo was a blast! I'll see you guys next year!

*edit3*
I've taken out some of the pics to reduce the amount of scrolling you had to do. If you want to check out more Con pics head over to my flickr. I've uploaded all the good pics from this year now, enjoy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tsamaha/sets/72157624474986931/
