Sculptors Gallery » a wip and questions about casting Aug 1, 2010 11:20 PM (Total replies: 12)

ok more questions. should i be preparing to cut this up in some way? im realizing that i may not be able to cut the legs off because that part of the armature is a really heavy coat hanger. woud it be okay to try to cast the body and legs in one piece? the arms and head are attached with pretty thin wire but do i have to prepare for seperation? -peter

this is the latest workin progress that will hopefully get finished this time. its gonna be a barbarianish kinda character of mine called rockjaw. i know i swiped the name from Bone but whatever!

anyways im thinking if this turns out good enough i want him to be my first kit. ive never molded or casted before so if anyone could balllpark about how much this will cost including a few fuckups along the way htat would be cool ( hes fairly big id say about 10 inches if i make a base). should i expect any sellable casts from the first attempt at all? or is it basically a learning experience. dam i forgot what other questions i had. maybe theyll come back to me later. - peter
